How To Set Goals for making money on the Internet (And Why You Need To Stick To Them Like Glue)
Congratulations, you have got your website up and running now next thing you have to do is work out what your goals for making money on the Internet will be.
The biggest killer for most people who start up a new website is that they have no goal set up for the long term future of where they want to be in a year or even in two years.
One of the most important things is to be setting yourself goals for the long term future of your website write down a list of the things that you wish to get out of your website.
Once you have created your list, start to sort out how much time you have available to dedicate towards keeping up content for your website.
Once you’ve worked out how much time you can devote to your website each week, try to work out a daily schedule of time and allocate it just to working on content creation or other website related problems.
Can you earn any money doing affiliate marketing?
Now it all depends on how much you want to learn, how good you are at marketing yourself, and how long you persevere with it.
There are quite a few distinct types of marketers out there. Here are a few; what one sounds like you?
The first person is the hobby marketer; they are just looking to work at this site in the evenings only for a couple of hours without putting any pressure on themselves or having time constraints.
Because they’re taking their time and have no pressure on themselves, it will most probably reflect in the quality of work that they put up because they are enjoying what they do, and the readers will also notice.
Depending on how much work they put into content creation, they most probably won’t make much in the way of regular income while the site is still building out.
But as time goes by, the traffic flow will increase to your website as your rankings slowly improve, and so your income will start to grow in regularity.
Or maybe you are one of those people who hate their job and want to quit straight away and become self-employed overnight and do something rash to try and explode your website up the rankings to watch it crash and burn after you have wasted your hard-earned dollars.
You are better to stick it out at work and work on your website as much as you can. One of the main reasons that most people fail is that they have no patience at all.
If you dedicate yourself to it for the long term, in the end, you will be able to create a stable enough income so that you can SACK YOUR BOSS! It has a nice ring to it.
And finally, we have a fulltime marketer who is willing to put in the long hours and realizes that long term commitment.
The main attribute that this marketer has is attention to detail in all aspects of the website.
What you have to realize is that you need to don’t try to force yourself, or you will come to hate your website.
As you go on with this industry, Sometimes you will put in a ton of work and get nothing in return, and other times you will do well; the main thing is to keep moving forward.
When will I start making sales?
If you are creating consistent content most probably between three to six months before you even see your first sale, your website has to gain google trust before your pages start to rank.
Until you have had your site for at least a year, don’t expect to be able to make a consistent income from it.
On the other hand, some people can get a regular income reasonably quickly, but that’s usually the exception to the rule.
The website owner is most probably a skilled marketer who is familiar with marketing or is running PPC campaigns.
Here are some success stories that have a lot of nuggets of wisdom to motivate you.
The first success story is my mentor Nathaniell; he has a six-figure website called one more cup of coffee Whenever I think it is getting to hard, I just take inspiration by what he has done for someone so young. Read Nathaniell Success Story here.
Wendy is another person who dipped her toes into the affiliate marketing arena, and despite having a nervous start now has ten income streams. Read Wendy Success Story here.
Now if you are thinking I just found a few success stories floating around, Not True! Check Out this list of Success Stories that will prove that if you have the desire to get there, you can.
Just remember some people will gallop along and make money quickly, and some people will get there a lot more slowly, but the one thing they both have in common is that they didn’t quit. I think this quote caps it.
Don’t become one of those statistics on the side of the road that says “I tried, but then I quit” the Internet is littered with these failures, learn from your mistakes and move on.
How much effort per day should I put in to be successful?
A lot of people all ask the same question, how much time should I put into my website each day to be successful in my chosen niche?
Aim for one to two hours per day to get decent results and three to five hours per day to get tremendous results
But by the same token, you could be very limited for time because of your work schedule. Try to set yourself a goal of a minimum of 30 minutes per day if you can write a post in two days that is 178 posts in a year. Not too shabby there.
Also, make sure while you are doing the posts that you create good images that relate to the post, it will help to capture readers attention making them stay on your page longer.
You could be a multitasker a focus freak or someone in between, once you have found your rhythm run with it, you will find that writing the posts becomes more natural.
As for the long term, I would be looking at about 1 to 5 hours per day, five days a week, with a minimum of three posts a week. If you aren’t making any money by then, you must be writing for a market that doesn’t exist.
Can I build a Website for free?
Can you build a website for free? Well, yes, you can. You could create a free website with siterubix.com and then write a lot of posts and then include all your affiliate links to your products into your content.
Yes, that is the 100% free strategy on how to do it. But why would you want to? You would have to search the internet landscape for bits and pieces of the best ways to set up your website correctly, and ½ of it would be out of date anyway.
However, you will have to tend the ship all by your lonesome and try and hold the tiller from pulling you in ½ a dozen directions at once. If you are entirely dedicated, then it is possible.
But I believe the old saying You Get Nothing For Nothing in the internet marketing world is an apt saying and worth remembering.
Think about this simple little example, can you learn to play the drums yourself? Yes, you can, but will it be easier with someone to teach you? It is easier.
Having a central place where you can learn all about how to build your website, courses on how to build out your content in the correct stages.
Setting marketing goals and talking with a vibrant community of people who are all doing the same thing as you is what you should be aiming at doing.
If you are reading this right now, it shows that you are asking the questions that you need to be asking if you wish to succeed in the future. You can do it all for free and surf the web to find what various odds and ends you can use to cobble your website together.
I recommend that you have a let’s call it a Central Station if you will need for website building, courses for building your website authority, and a vibrant community atmosphere where you can ask questions of anybody.
I currently use this training platform, and since I have started using it, I have never looked back. I would recommend going over to give it a try. Join up to the Starter Membership it is free, and no credit card details are required.
